Relationships

My friend recently blogged about her husband and how he still makes her Swoon after 10 years. That's a dreamy feeling I wish we could share with everyone. I've stated many times during this construction project how much more in love I have become with my amazing hubby! We talk late at night, sometimes here and there throughout the day but most importantly, we really stop and listen to each other. We respect what we both have to say. We'd love to have more time to spend together but for now, we made the decison to send our kids to private school and to build a new home so we are both working our butts off! A lot of my days are spent leaving home at 730am and returning home about 940pm. During this time, the kids are at daycare or school and the hubby is at work. When he returns home (45 minute commute), he picks up the children, prepares supper and attends to unfinished projects at the house. He is AMAZING, patient, persistant, good humored, an inspiring dad and most importantly? He's in love with me! The most important part of a relationship? Treat them as you want to be treated! Respect, Dignity, Compassion, Love, Loyalty, and Comfort are the most important traits needed in any relationship. My husband is sooo handsome and that definately helps keep the passion alive! LOL! I can't wait until our project is done so we can hang out together, relax and enjoy the fruit of our labor!

Did I mention he left this morning? 10.5 inches of very wet white stuff, just dumped on us and he's on his way to Florida to watch Spring Training...Nice timing my love!! I was only stuck once this morning and so was the contractor (he was much worse off than I). Enjoy your mini vaca!! We'll be shoveling out while waiting for you!

During my crazy life as a mother of "My 3 Sons", I've decided to try this blogging thing again. I am happily married 12.5 years to "My Everything", have 3 children age 10.5 (Big A) and twins age 4 (K & R), all BOYS. I LOVE it!! I dream of having 5 children but so far, we have settled into a comfortable family of 5. We are currently "homeless", living in the basement of my parents and my MIL's while we build our dream home. It will all be worth it in the end. We moved out of our humble home Labor Day weekend and hope to be in our new home before Valentines. So far the project has been successful and smooth! I can only hope it remains this way throughout the remainder. Perhaps along the way, I will learn how to submit pics and put some of the construction pics on here.

So here it goes...

My attempt at blogging!

I was reminded this past weekend that our children are small imitators, hence the phrase "You learn what you live with". Being stressed and frustrated, "damn" has slipped out a few too many times in our 4 months of homelessness. We are not perfect and definately are trying to do the best we can under the circumstances but we are now on "high alert", aware of how much they are absorbing. When I heard this word out of the mouth of a 4 year old, I had a moment of "surprise" they do listen and that selective hearing decided to be "on" during that moment? Great! Let me introduce you to the loves of my life:

R is my child that loves being read to, watching movies with a story line and "doing tablework" (homework, art, etc). This child has an imagination! Reminder, he is only 4! We shall see how this develops. I want to share a few of his comments. He has been starting to understand the little bible stories we have been sharing with him. Recently, he went to church with Grandma and "saw God" (Father). A few hours later we were sitting down to eat lunch and he would not go wash his hands. After a lot of prodding, a little yelling and our patience wearing thin, he decided to go in the bathroom and pretend to wash his hands. When I checked them at the table after prayers, they were still dirty. When questioning him, he got very defensive and told us he didn't want to wash his hands because they smell like God. Apparently he thinks "Father" is "God"- guess we have a little more work to do. (But it is so precious!) This past Sunday we were driving home from Nisswa and there was a tall cell phone tower with a flashing red light on top. R looks over as we drive by and says "HEY, look at that! It's a ladder to God". He is our light!!

K is the active, sports, outdoors, hard working helper. He is on the go from 630am to 10pm- no naps necessary here. YIKES! This child is always on the go. When "My Everything" is home, K is a little shadow. K is currently obsessed with requesting "hotdish" every time you ask him what we should have to eat. Not sure what kind of hotdish daycare makes, but it must be good. K is our active, aggressive, no fear child. There is no observing in his life. This is my child that was selective listening and said "help pick up the damn toys" to his brothers. I think we may have our hands full with this one. K cannot wait to play hockey next year. He has matured so much in the past year- I am losing my babies!!

"Big A" earned his nickname from R and loves it. He is a huge help to his little brothers and they think the world of him. He wasn't quite sure when we brought home twins after he was already 6 years old. He definately enjoyed being the only child and we try hard to continue to do things with him individually. He does really well in school, though he does not enjoy it. Like my little brother, Big A would like to quit school and get a job, regardless of how often we tell him that "You will work the rest of your life"! I pray that he will learn to ENJOY SCHOOL AND FRIENDS!! He plays Indoor Soccer and is active in Cub Scouts. This is his first year playing Sax. He says he enjoys it. He previously tried t-ball, basketball, hockey and guitar...none of those were a fit for him.

All 4 (My Everything, K, R and Big A) of my boys love snowmobiling and have their own. Perhaps I can get a photo of them on here too! Me? I'd rather snuggle up with a good book or movie. Perhaps when our new home is done, I can do that!!

Happy Holidays to all and welcome to my attempt at blogging!
